What happens before, during, and after hydroseeding.
The day the green slurry goes down is only one step. The result depends on preparation, site conditions, materials, weather, watering, and time.
Before application
The area should be graded, cleared, reasonably loose at the surface, and ready to receive seed. Soil problems, drainage, compaction, and debris should be addressed before spraying.
Application day
The installer applies the slurry to prepared soil. Green color helps show coverage, but color alone is not the measure of quality.
After application
The seed enters the establishment period. Moisture management is critical, especially in the first days and weeks.
Common misunderstandings
- Hydroseeding is not instant sod.
- Green color does not guarantee a finished lawn.
- Watering is usually the customer’s most important aftercare responsibility.
- Heavy storms, poor soil, compaction, or bad drainage can affect results.
- Severe slopes may need more than standard lawn hydroseeding.
