Common questions before requesting hydroseeding or turf establishment.
Is hydroseeding just grass seed in green water?
No. Professional hydroseeding is a site-specific establishment system using seed, mulch, water, and selected additives such as tackifier, fertilizer, or soil amendments when appropriate.
How fast will I have a lawn?
Timing depends on seed type, season, temperature, soil, watering, and weather. Hydroseeding is not instant sod; it is a germination and establishment process.
Do I need to water?
Usually, yes. Proper watering is one of the most important customer responsibilities after application. Your installer should provide site-specific watering instructions.
What if it rains?
Light rain can help. Heavy rain can cause runoff or washout, especially on slopes or poorly prepared soil. Discuss weather risks and responsibility with the contractor before work begins.
Can hydroseeding fix bad soil?
Hydroseeding can help establish seed, but severely compacted, depleted, contaminated, or poorly drained soil may need correction before application.
Can you handle commercial or public projects?
Requests can be reviewed, but public, DOT, municipal, engineered, and specified projects must follow the controlling plans, permits, specifications, labels, and approval requirements.
